Afai Splashes 40m Catamaran Ferry

Afai Southern Shipyard held, on Jan 3rd, a launching ceremony for 40m aluminum catamaran ferry PENG XING 15 (Yard No. ASA040).

This is the first of two 40m vessels that the yard is building for Shenzhen Pengxing Shipping Co.,Ltd. The basic and detailed design of this type of ferry was made by CoCo Yachts Holland B.V., while the supplementary approval design and production design were done by Afai Southern.

The ferry has an overall length of 40.0m, overall width of 9.3m, passenger capacity of 199 persons and adopts two waterjets propulsion system. The line of its superstructure is streamlined and extremely fashionable.

Delivery of the vessel is slated for the first quarter of 2014.

The owner’s representative – General Manager Assistant Mr. Lin Zhongwen, the chief designer of the ferry, Mr. Henk as well as the shipyard’s leaders jointly attended the launching ceremony.
