Aibel Bags Oda Subsea Deal from TechnipFMC

Aibel has secured a contract from TechnipFMC to supply a subsea manifold and structure for an integrated foundation for Oda field in the Norwegian North Sea.

Under the contract Aibel will build and deliver several subsea structural elements, including a subsea manifold.

The work starts immediately and is expected to last until the second half of 2018.

Bjørn Tollefsen, EVP Modifications and Yard S ervices, said: “This contract cements our position as supplier to the subsea market. Along with several other ongoing projects, it will ensure plenty of work at the yard in the time ahead. We’re looking forward to starting work.”

According to Aibel, the award is a call-off on the contract that the company has signed with TechnipFMC in summer of 2016, and will be delivered in connection with Technip FMC’s involvement in the Oda project.

Centrica is the end-client and operator for the Oda development project. The proposed development will include a 4-slot seabed template with two production wells, and one water injection well, which will tie back to the Ula platform.

Oil will be transported via the Norpipe system to the Teesside Terminal in the UK, while the gas will be sold at the platform to Ula for re-injection into the Ula reservoir to improve recovery.

The oil field is planned to start production in 2019.
