Alfa Laval to provide boiler modules for FPSO offshore Nigeria

Alfa Laval, a Swedish heat transfer, centrifugal separation and fluid handling company, has won an order to supply its Alfa Laval Aalborg boiler modules for an FPSO vessel to be moored offshore Nigeria.

The company has said that the order, booked in the Marine & Offshore Systems segment, has a value of approximately SEK 90 million ($11 million) and delivery is scheduled for 2016. The FPSO is to be build in China.

The boiler modules will be included in the power generation system of the FPSO vessel where they will predominately generate steam for the steam turbines, and also provide cargo tank heating, Alfa Laval has said in its press release.

“I am pleased to announce yet another large order from the offshore oil and gas industry, and this time for our Alfa Laval Aalborg range,” says Lars Renström, President and CEO of the Alfa Laval Group.

“It is another confirmation of our position as a leading supplier of reliable equipment to the oil and gas industry.”
