Amec Foster Wheeler CEO leaves

UK-based LNG engineer Amec Foster Wheeler on Monday said its chief executive officer Samir Birkho is stepping down from his position after nine years in charge.

The company named the current chief financial officer, Ian McHoul as interim CEO with immediate effect. McHoul will chair the Amec Foster Wheeler leadership team until the new CEO is named, the company said in a statement.

Over the nine years as Amec Foster Wheeler’s CEO, Birkho “contributed to company’s development, re-shaping and re-structuring of the business“.

AFC noted that its credit facility refinancing is progressing to plan.
