AMEC’s qedi Wins Valhall Decom Gig (Norway)

AMEC's qedi to Decommission Three Platforms in BP Norway’s Valhall

AMEC, the international engineering and project management company announces that subsidiary qedi, a market-leading oil and gas completions and commissioning services company, has been awarded a decommissioning management services contract for three platforms in BP Norway’s Valhall development.

qedi’s contract will commence in December 2012 with the decommissioning of the Valhall Production and Compression Platform, followed by the drilling platform and living quarters platform, and is expected to run through to 2018.

qedi will deliver the services using their GoTechnology® suite of project management applications. Unique to qedi and new to the decommissioning market, the software is designed to deliver technical integrity standardisation through a multi-layered business process central hub.

“We are delighted to have received this contract award and look forward to building on our existing relationship with BP Norway,” said Barry Cann, qedi’s Managing Director. “GoTechnology® is an example of the unique and specialist skills we can offer our clients and we are proud to be championing innovative technology which has great potential for use across the oil and gas decommissioning market.”
