AML to Equip PRIC New Icebreaker

The Polar Research Institute of China (PRIC) has selected AML Oceanographic’s Moving Vessel Profiler as the underway profiling system for their new icebreaker, Xuelong 2.

This is the second contract for the deep water, underway profiler MVP300 secured through AML’s local agent, Laurel Technologies Company of Hong Kong, within the last four months.

The solution to be supplied to PRIC includes the MVP, instrumentation, installation, and training services.

“We chose MVP300 to collect high density real-time CTD profiles without stopping the vessel. The MVP system also allows us to collect other scientific data such as Chlorophyll A, Dissolved Oxygen, and Turbidity. We will achieve better quality data and save valuable vessel time,” said Shuoren Wang, Project Director.
