Apache Fishing for Taunton Liner (Australia)

Apache Fishing for Taunton Liner (Australia)

Tap Oil, an independent oil and gas exploration company from Australia, has announced that Apache is in the process of retrieving a liner that has been stuck in the Taunton wellbore, offshore W. Australia.

In a press release issued today, June 14, the company said that the liner was differentially stuck in the wellbore during the operations on the Taunton-5/5H appraisal well.

“Fishing operations are underway to retrieve the liner,” Tap Oil said.

The Taunton project located in the Carnarvon Basin, offshore Western Australia in a water depth of 20 metres, is operated by Apache Oil Australia Pty Ltd.

Tap, which owns a 13% share in the well, said that the forward plan is to bring back the liner, complete the well and run a cased-hole production test over the Early Cretaceous horizontal section.
