Atlantis Subsea Farming Asks for More Development Permits

Atlantis Subsea Farming has decided to appeal the decision by the Norwegian Directorate of Fisheries regarding the awarded development licenses for its submersible fish-farming project.

In January 2016, the Norwegian company applied for 6 development licenses of which 2 were approved by the Directorate.

However, Atlantis Subsea Farming, a team-up between AKVA Group, Sinkaberg-Hansen and Egersund Nethas, has now chosen to appeal for 2 out of the 4 rejected licenses.

The work on Atlantis started in summer 2014, and experts from all three companies have been involved in the work with the concept which aims to develop submersible fish-farming facilities for salmon on an industrial scale.
