Aubin Expands its Services in U.A.E. and Oman

Aubin, a leading independent supplier of specialist chemicals to the energy industry, has announced a strategic partnership with an agent in the Middle East who will promote the company’s full range of specialist chemicals and services in the UAE and Oman.

The partnership agreement with Leaders Oilfield Equipment LLC, which covers the provision of cement and stimulation additives, pipeline cleaning gels and gel pigs and marine buoyancy gels, will assist Aubin in accessing Middle East markets whilst also complimenting the range of products currently offered to the market by Leaders.

Leaders are currently establishing a manufacturing and storage facility at the KIZAD Free Zone east of Abu Dhabi which will provide excellent facilities and multimodal connections to local UAE and other regional customers.

Having this stock on site will also facilitate a more efficient service offering in the area as fulfilment/delivery times will be greatly reduced.

Aubin Managing Director Paddy Collins said: “By making our products available in the Middle East we will be able to offer clients a more effective service. This partnership will help to establish a local presence in the area and demonstrates our ongoing commitment to clients in this important market.

As part of the company’s growth strategy we plan to expand into Iraq and Libya in 2012. Partnerships such as this will support our development in the region and provide invaluable connections at a local level.

Aubin’s turnover rose 5% to £4.6million (to year end July) with profits rising by 20% during the same period.

The company focuses strongly on research and development and has invested nearly £1million in the last four years developing patented products that address common subsea issues.

Aubin was established in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, in 1987 and has a team of 20 people. It designs researches, develops, manufactures and supplies high-quality chemical technology for a wide range of energy industry applications.

Existing products include pipeline pigging and cleaning applications while commercialisation of additional technologies for subsea applications such as insulation and pipeline commissioning is underway.
