AusGroup Wins Ichthys Project Contract (Australia)

AusGroup Limited subsidiary AusGroup Corporation (“AGC Thailand”), a leading Thailand based construction and fabrication company, today announced it has been awarded the insulation contract with CUEL Limited for the INPEX Ichthys LNG project in Darwin, Australia. The approximate value of this award is THB 304 million (AU$10.5 million).

AGC Thailand is subcontracted to CUEL Limited, a leading engineering, procurement, fabrication, construction and installation contractor in the Asia Pacific region.

AGC Thailand has been contracted for the supply, fabrication and installation of all Cryogenic, Acoustic and Hot Insulation works for packages 4, 5 and 6 and pre-assembled modules. The works will be undertaken within CUEL’s Module Fabrication Yard in Laemchabang, Chonburi, Thailand. Once mechanically complete, the pre-assembled modules will be transported directly to Blaydin Point in Darwin, Australia.

“With offices in Thailand, Singapore and Australia, this contract clearly demonstrates AusGroup’s capacity to deliver major works seamlessly across borders. Our global reach is supported by our ability to offer the highest service and quality standards to all of our clients, locally and internationally” said CEO and Managing Director, Laurie Barlow.

The Ichthys LNG project, a joint venture between INPEX and Total, is approximately 200km off the coast of Western Australia. The gas from the Ichthys field in the Browse basin experiences preliminary processing offshore prior to being exported to the onshore processing facilities in Darwin via an 889km subsea pipeline.

The project is expected to produce around 8.4 million tonnes of LNG and 1.6 million tonnes of LPG per annum, along with an estimated 100,000 barrels of condensate per day at peak.
