Construction of First Two QCLNG Storage Tanks Almost Complete

BG of UK said that the construction of the first of two QCLNG storage tanks is nearly complete.

The tanks are being constructed using the most advanced engineering techniques and safety designs, BG said.

Measuring some 80m x 49m each tank is larger the Royal Albert Hall in London and will be capable of withstanding up to force 7 earthquakes, impacts and fire.

Queensland Curtis LNG is one of Australia’s largest capital infrastructure projects, involving US$20.4 billion of investment from 2010-14.

The project will draw on QGC’s extensive coal seam gas expertise and BG Group’s international experience in LNG at a time of rising demand for cleaner, more efficient energy.
