Australia: Jan De Nul in Wheatstone LNG Win

Jan De Nul in Wheatstone LNG Win

Dredging company Jan De Nul said it has won a contract from Chevron for the installation of the Wheatstone pipeline in Western Australia.

Before installing the pipeline, trenches must be dredged in the hard seabed.

In order to protect the pipeline, it must also be covered with sand and rocks after installation.

Furthermore, prelay rock berms have to be installed, enabling the new pipeline to cross existing pipelines,” the company said in a statement.

Chevron’s Wheatstone Project will include an onshore facility located at Ashburton North Strategic Industrial Area (ANSIA), 12 kilometres west of Onslow in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.

The foundation project will include two LNG trains with a combined capacity of 8.9 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and a domestic gas plant.
