Australia: Santos GLNG ships 20th cargo

The US$18.5 billion Santos GLNG project said on Wednesday it has shipped its 20th cargo of chilled gas since it commenced production in 2015.

The 160,000 cbm Cool Runner tanker carrying the 20th cargo left Curtis Island in Gladstone harbour this morning, Santos GLNG said.

However, the Santos-led LNG project did not reveal the final destination of the LNG tanker.

Santos has a 30% interest in Australia’s GLNG. Other co-venturers include Petronas (27.5%), Total (27.5%) and Kogas (15%).

The LNG project said recently it produced one million tonnes of ‪chilled gas since production from the first GLNG train commenced in September last year.

The first cargo produced at the 7.8 mtpa LNG plant on Curtis Island was delivered in October to Kogas’ Pyeong Taek terminal in South Korea.

First LNG from Train 2 is expected in the second quarter of 2016.
