Australian Navy Intercepts Boat with Suspected Asylum Seekers

A boat with 116 suspected asylum seekers and two crew members was intercepted north of Christmas Island by Australian Navy.

HMAS Maryborough provided assistance to the vessel following a request by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority.

Michael Keenan, opposition border protection spokesman, stated that this incident proves that Labor government has been avoiding to take responsibility for the border protection crisis.
