Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping to Install ECDIS on 28 Ships

The UK developer and supplier of ECDIS, maritime training simulators and electronic charts PC Maritime has won a contract to supply Navmaster ECDIS to 28 Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company vessels.

The order follows the successful operation of Navmaster ECDIS on thirteen ACSC vessels over the past three years.

The initial supply is for single ECDIS with 24 inch displays, with an option to extend to dual ECDIS, and Jeppesen Primar charts and updating services.

The systems will be installed and supported locally by the company’s Estonian trading partner Marine Technics’ office in Baku.

Anne Edmonds, PC Maritime’s marketing director, said: ”We are very pleased with this order, particularly because it is based on the customer experience of using Navmaster ECDIS. Marine Technics has provided good support to ACSC as well as negotiating the new order, and their expertise has been crucial to winning the contract.”

ACSC’s merchant fleet consists of 97 vessels, including 34 tankers, 13 ferries, 14 universal dry-cargo and two Ro-Ros.
