Azinor hires Interocean for offshore rig positioning

UK-based Interocean Marine Services has been hired Azinor Catalyst to provide an integrated package of rig move, mooring and positioning services.

The company is currently supporting a drilling program on board Ocean Guardian in the North Sea.

Interocean’s Keith Nelson said: “We are delighted with this award, which allows us to utilize our broad range of capabilities, including our now well-established survey and positioning services.

“In addition, this is the second successful tender for the provision of moorings services since the alliance with First Marine Solutions Limited was formed and demonstrates that successful partnerships can benefit the industry.”

Oil company Azinor last week said its Partridge well in the UK sector of the North Sea failed to unearth hydrocarbons.

The company will now drill its appraisal well to test the Agar Discovery and Plantain Prospect in 2Q 2018, to allow time to analyse the results of Apache’s adjacent Titan exploration well. The Titan well is due to start in 4Q 2017 and will test the same play as the Plantain Prospect in the adjacent block.
