Bahrain LNG Terminal Pre-FEED Study to Be Completed Soon

The National Oil & Gas Authority (NOGA) and The Oil and Gas Holding Company have jointly arranged a short presentation aiming to provide an update on the Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) project in particular with respect to the siting of the facilities and the way forward to pursue this strategic project to Kingdom of Bahrain.

More than 50 executives and senior representatives from the key relative governmental stakeholders attended the presentation which was held at the Capital Club – Bahrain Financial Harbor.

NOGA has taken strategic decision with regard to its long term energy strategy and intend to import LNG to supplement domestic production and ensure that gas demand can be met, and nogaholding – the investment and development arm of NOGA – has been given a mandate to proceed with the development and formation of Bahrain LNG Terminal Project.

In order to develop, build and operate the project, nogaholding has commenced the first phase of the project which is the Pre-Front End Engineering Design (Pre-FEED) study whereby one of its objectives is to confirm the suitability of the selected site for the project. NOGA engaged Galway Group of USA as its Project Consultant. Galway has subcontracted WorleyParsons to carry out the Pre-FEED study. The Pre-FEED study will be completed by end of November 2013.
