Bestobell Nets Contract for Chinese LNG Carriers

Bestobell Valves, part of the President Engineering Group, said it has received a new contract for cryogenic cargo globe valves from the Hudong Zhonghua shipyard in China.

The multimillion dollar contract will see the U.K.-based company manufacturing valves for six 174K LNG Carriers. The LNGC have been contracted by Sinopec, China Shipping Group and MOL of Japan to ship coal bed LNG from the Gladstone field in Australia back to China.

The valves will be part of the largest LNGC vessels to be built at Hudong Zhonghua shipyard and will be due for delivery by the end of 2015. These will also be the first LNGCs to utilise GE’s latest gas turbine engine technology.

This latest business win brings the number of contracts that Bestobell Marine has with the Hudong Zhonghua shipyard to ten.
