BG gets approval to drill at Jordbær Sør

BG Norge AS has received consent to drill exploration well 34/3-5. BG Norge AS (BG) is the operator for production licence PL 373 in the Tampen area in the northern North Sea, offshore Norway.

The PSA has given BG consent to drill exploration well 34/3-5 in a prospect named Jordbær Sør.

The well is to be drilled by the Transocean Searcher semi-submersible drilling rig. Drilling is estimated to last for 66 days. Water depth at the site is 403 metres.

Transocean Searcher is a semi-submersible drilling unit of the Trosvik Bingo 3000 type, built in Tønsberg in 1983. It is owned and operated by Transocean Ltd. The facility is registered in the Marshall Islands and classified by DNV GL.

Transocean Searcher was issued with an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) by the PSA in December 2003.
