Biggest Engine Order for Scania in Russia

Russian boatbuilder JSC ZNT Yard has placed an order with SPB Marine LLC for delivery of marine engines. The contract, the largest so far for Scania in Russia, underlies delivery of 32 propulsion units based on Scania DI 16M engines and Twin Disc MGX 5135 SC gearboxes for vessels of project 23040.

ZNT Yard OJSC recently signed a state contract for construction of 16 search-and-rescue boats of the project 23040 for the RF Defense Ministry. According to the contract, the shipyard will fulfill its obligations within 3 years. The first 4 vessels will be delivered and dispatched to the Black Sea fleet. The following vessels will be built and delivered to the Caspian Flotilla (3 units) and the Baltic Fleet (3 units – to Kronshtadt and 6 units – to Baltijsk).
