Black & Veatch, headquartered in Overland Park, Kansas, delivered the regasification system for the barge-based floating LNG storage and regasification unit (FSRU) for Belgian company Exmar.

The FSRU was delivered in December from Wison Offshore & Marine’s shipyard in Nantong, China, the company noted.

Black & Veatch designed the topside units for the FSRU, including boil-off gas handling, LNG vaporization and natural gas metering, procured all topside equipment and instruments and provided support during the construction phase.

The FSRU contains 25,000 cubic meters of LNG storage and has a maximum sendout rate of 600 mmscfd.

Once the FSRU is mobilized, Black & Veatch will support the Nicolas Savery-led shipowner, Exmar to complete the final commissioning and start-up of the unit.

Exmar noted in its statement upon delivery that it has secured long-term employment for the FSRU starting from mid-2018 onwards, without disclosing the name of the charterer.
