UPDATE: Gas flow from Lithuania’s LNG terminal restarts today

Gas from Höegh LNG’s FSRU Independence docked at the Klaipeda port will start flowing again today after a threat call stopped operations temporarily.

The LNG terminal stopped operations following a call claiming that an explosive device had been placed under the FSRU.

The port of Klaipeda immediately restricted navigation in the southern part of the harbour while the emergency services inspected the site and evacuated people from the LNG terminal’s pier.

As Klaipedos Nafta’s spokeswoman, Indrė Milinienė told LNG World News in an emailed response, the police forces confirmed that the call was a hoax and that gas from the LNG terminal will start flowing again today.

The police reported earlier that the woman, who initially made the call, has been detained, according to Lithuania’s DELFI.
