Bombora Gears for Technical Challenge Weekend

Bombora Wave Power has announced the inaugural Bombora Technical Challenge weekend where it is inviting groups to put themselves forward for an intensive technical engineering and water sporting challenge.

The event will be held at the Llanion Cove, Outdoor Adventure Centre in the heart of the Pembrokeshire Coastal National Park, over the weekend of 7th (Friday evening), 8th and 9th June 2019.

Accommodation, meals and equipment will be provided by Bombora.

Friday evening will consist of a welcome dinner where the challenge will be set. Teams will be asked to solve a technical challenge which will be judged on Sunday followed by a prize giving ceremony. Over the course of the weekend participants can look forward to enjoying a typical Aussie Barbie, some water sports and a visit to Bombora’s purpose-built test tank to see the innovative mWave membrane being put through its paces.

This weekend event has been structured to encourage engagement and relationships with the broader industry, academic institutions and local community as well as challenge the mWave concept. Bombora is hopeful that they can create opportunities for future working partnerships and employment.

Teams of up to 5 people are invited to take part in this free challenge. A full weekend programme is planned with support and mentoring being provided by Bombora’s team and external experts. Space is limited so applications will be taken on a first come first serve basis.

The closing date for applications is Monday 6th May, 2019
