EnerMech assists Subsea7 in decommissioning scope delivery

Aberdeen-headquartered integrated solutions specialist EnerMech has completed a pipeline flushing and cleaning workscope for Subsea7 as part of a field decommissioning program in the Gulf of Mexico.

EnerMech reported it was in charge of flushing and cleaning a long-distance deepwater oil export pipeline, delivering an integrated solution incorporating high-pressure pumping, hydrocarbon filtration, and vessel-based operations.

“Pipeline flushing and cleaning is a critical step in the decommissioning process and must be performed with precision. For this scope, we applied a fully integrated execution model, combining specialist equipment, strong project controls, and Gulf of Mexico experience. Our teams delivered the work safely, efficiently, and in full regulatory compliance,” said Nuno de Sousa, SVP Energy Solutions at EnerMech.

According to the firm, residual hydrocarbons were safely displaced from the pipeline, achieving verified hydrocarbon-free status in line with environmental standards.

This news comes a week after EnerMech reported the completion of a cleaning and preparation scope on an offshore pipeline on behalf of Esso Australia Resources, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ExxonMobil Australia.
