Bomin Linde in LNG supply partnership with Furetank Rederi

Bomin Linde LNG and Swedish shipowner Furetank Rederi signed a letter of intent for long-term cooperation on LNG supply in the Baltic Sea region.

Under the LOI, Bomin Linde LNG will supply the Furetank Rederi vessels using its new liquefied natural gas bunkering vessel, while in port and at sea.

Bomin Linde LNG said in its statement that the commissioning of this Klaipeda-based supply vessel is scheduled for late 2018.

During 2018 and early 2019, Furetank Rederi expects the delivery of four LNG-fueled newbuilding ordered in cooperation with the Gothenburg-based Gothia Tanker Alliance. Furetank has also started retrofitting its tanker Fure West for use of liquefied natural gas as fuel.

Sonja Nesshoever, director LNG portfolio of Bomin Linde LNG said that the companies will jointly look at options of bunkering LNG in lightering areas of the Baltic Sea.

Bomin Linde LNG, on behalf of its joint venture with Klaipedos Nafta, the owner and operator of Lithuania’s LNG terminal, has already chartered the 7,500-cbm LNG bunkering vessel from Bernhard Shulte.
