Brazil: Petrobras’ Production Figures for November

Petrobras’ average oil production in Brazil grew 3% in November compared to October reaching 2,060,695 barrels of oil per day (bpd). The increase is mainly due to new wells in P-57 (Jubarte), P-56 (Marlim Sul), FPSO-Angra dos Reis (Lula) coming into production and Extended Well Testing (EWT) in northeast Carioca, which started mid-October.

Also contributing to the increase in production where platforms returning from being out for maintenance in October.

Average Petrobras oil and natural gas production in Brazil in November reached 2,423,118 barrels of oil equivalent per day (boepd). An increase of 2.7% compared to October and 1.8% compared to November 2010. This month natural gas production from domestic fields reached 57,621 thousand cubic meters per day, showing an increase of 4.2% compared to November 2010.

253,938 barrels of oil equivalent (oil and gas) were produced in foreign fields. With this, Petrobras’ total production reached 2,677,056 (boe) in November, 2.2% higher than for the same month last year.

Outside Brazil, the 253,938 barrels (oil and gas) produced in November was 5.1% higher than in November 2010 because of new wells coming into production in the Akpo field, Nigeria, and increased production in wells drilled in 2011, mainly in the Rio Neuquen and El Mangrulho fields in Argentina. Total production (oil and gas) decreased by 1.1% compared to October due to maintenance of facilities in Santa Cruz, Argentina, compulsory well testing and operational issues in Agbami, Nigeria.

Only for oil produced outside Brazil, the 152,769 barrels per day produced represents an 3.5% increase on the same month last year due to new production wells in the Akpo field, Nigeria. Natural gas production abroad was 17,189 thousand cubic meters, remaining practically stable compared to October.
