Brazil: Petrobras Welcomes Two New Directors

Petrobras Welcomes Two New Directors

The new directors for Exploration & Production, José Miranda Formigli, and Gas & Energy, José Alcides Santoro, took office Tuesday morning during a ceremony held at Petrobras’ main office building, in Rio de Janeiro.

Taking part in the event were Petrobras’ CEO, Maria das Graças Silva Foster, E&P Director Guilherme Estrella, who handed over the office, and Company managers and technicians.

According to the new director for E&P, it is necessary to be even more attentive to short-term result predictability. “Petrobras has a bright future ahead of it, one few oil companies worldwide can hope to have, whether on account of its access to reserves or due to the Brazilian market, which I consider as one of our main advantages,” highlighted Formigli.

In his address, Santoro spoke about the work carried out alongside the current CEO of the company. “When I started working at Cenpes, I met a drilling engineer, a cementing expert, with a capacity to work the likes of which I had never seen before. It was our current CEO, Maria das Graças Silva Foster.”

While remarking on the career of the new director for Gas & Energy, Petrobras’ CEO cited the qualities a team must have in order to be victorious: “We need competent, loyal people, and Alcides has both qualities.” Maria das Graças Silva Foster met Formigli while working with Well Engineering at the Research Center (Cenpes). “We were very encouraged by Formigli, for his competence and the seriousness with which he did his work. I wish luck, courage, boldness, creativity and hard work to the new directors,” she said.
