Brazilian Submarine Cable Network Project Includes Link to Angola and Cape Verde

Brazil’s ministry of communications announced a new Brazilian submarine telecommunications cable network project, which will include a direct link to Angola through Cape Verde.

State-owned telecommunications firm Telebrás prepared preliminary plans, which expect the cables to leave the Brazilian city of Fortaleza on its way to North America, passing through the Caribbean.

One branch of the cable will link Brazil directly to Europe via Cape Verde, and another will be directly connected to Africa, most likely Angola.
