Busy May for Onomichi Shipyard

Onomichi Shipyard held three important ceremonies during the month of May out of which two were related to the delivery of vessels and one to the launching of a Super Box Shaped Bulker.

The shipyard hosted a launching ceremony, on May 29, of Hull No. 667, a 37.000 dwt bulk carrier. The vessel was named ‘IKAN LANDUK’ by Mr. Bin Haga of SUMITOMO CORPORATION. After the naming,Mrs. Reiko Asama, who is the spouse of Mr. Yoshimasa Asama of the Chugoku Bank LTD Onomichi Branch, cut the cord for her launching.

Prior to the launching ceremony, the shipyard completed delivery of two vessels. At a delivery ceremony, held on May 21st, a 50.000 dwt Product/Chemical Tanker “UNIQUE INFINITY” (Hull No.569) was delivered to the Unique Shipping (H.K.) Limited.

At a ceremony held on May 8th, the delivery of 37.000 dwt Super Box Shaped Bulker “NORD QUEBEC” to the Dampskibsselskabet “NORDEN” A/S of Denmark took place.
