BW Group names new CFO

Singapore-based BW Group on Tuesday said it has named Jakob Bergholdt as the company’s CFO.

Bergholdt has spent over 16 years in Asia, and has held key finance positions in well-respected shipping conglomerates, BW said in its statement. He will take his position on January 2, 2017.

The appointment follows the departure of Nicholas Gleeson, the group’s former CFO.

BW Group, the company involved in shipping oil and gas, operates an LNG fleet of 21 vessels, 16 in operation and 5 newbuildings with a total capacity of 3,274,012 cubic meters. The vessels include the FSRU BW Singapore that serves as an import terminal in Egypt.

Out of the five newbuildings, one is a floating regasification and storage unit on order at Samsung Heavy Industries with four LNG carriers on order at DSME. All vessels are scheduled for delivery from 2016 through 2019.

The company has recently been contracted by Pakistan GasPort Limited to provide LNG regasification services utilizing a newbuild floating storage and regasification unit for the second Pakistan LNG terminal, for a period of 15 years.

In addition, the company owns a stake in two LNG newbuildings at Hudong Shipyard in China. BW Group’s full fleet comprises 150 vessels.
