Cameron liquefaction project moves ahead

The construction of Cameron LNG’s liquefaction facilities that kicked off in October, 2014, has been progressing in full flow.

Sempra Energy’s unit, Cameron LNG, informed that the construction activities can be seen as the new project starts rapidly taking shape: crews are clearing, grading, pile testing and working on soil stabilization, among other activities.

Construction crews led by Alan Zachary, construction site manager for Cameron LNG, and by the project’s engineering, procurement and construction contractor, CCJV, have reached more than 120,000 hours on-site without a recordable or lost time incident.

Almost 200 workers are currently on site and the number will gradually rise to a peak of about 3,000 construction workers by next year, Cameron LNG said.

The construction team informed that traffic delays may occur but advance notice to the community about major activities will be provided.
