Canadian Coast Guard’s New Vessel Hits the Water

“Canadians owe an enormous debt of gratitude to all those who have fought for our values and freedom, as well as their families and loved ones. This new Coast Guard Mid-Shore Patrol Vessel will keep Captain Nichola Kathleen Sarah Goddard’s memory alive and will ensure that her sacrifice will never be forgotten,” said Canada’s Justice Minister Peter MacKay.

The CCGS Captain Goddard M.S.M floated by itself for the first time into Halifax harbour and will head for sea trials before it is assigned to the West Coast.

An official naming and dedication ceremony will follow in the near future.
