Business & Finance

Greek shipping company Capital Product Partners has signed charter employments for its two 8,266 TEU container carriers M/V Agamemnon and M/V Archimidis with an undisclosed client.

The 108,892 dwt vessels, built by South Korean Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering in 2007 and 2006, have been chartered for a period of twelve months.

According to Capital Product Partners, the charters are expected to commence in April 2016 and include an charter extension option for an additional 12 months at an increased rate.

Due to these employments, the partnership’s charter coverage for 2016 and 2017 has increased to 93% and 72%, respectively.

Capital Product Partners currently owns 34 vessels, including twenty modern medium range product tankers, four Suezmax crude oil tankers, nine Post Panamax container vessels and one Capesize bulk carrier, all of which are under period charters.
