Cargill Hires Diana Shipping’s Capesize

Athens-based Diana Shipping has secured a time charter contract for one of its Capesize dry bulk vessels with Cargill International.

The company’s 171,810 dwt Capesize unit Salt Lake City was hired at a gross charter rate of USD 16,250 per day.

Built in 2005, the vessel is to work for Cargill for a period of eight to ten months. The charter is expected to commence on May 1, 2018.

Diana Shipping said that this employment is to generate some USD 3.9 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the time charter.

Salt Lake City was previously chartered to Uniper Global Commodities at a gross charter rate of USD 9,000 per day.
