Cartagena Shipyard Hosts South Australian Minister for Defence Industries

The Minister for Defence Industries of South Australia, Hon. John James Snelling, payed a visit to the shipyard of Navantia in Cartagena last Monday, 10th September. The main purpose of his visit was to understand the capabilities and facilities that are being built S-80 submarines for the Spanish Navy, since Navantia is one of the shortlisted companies for the new submarine program that has been launched by the Australian Government.

The Minister and his delegation arrived at the dock of Cartagena, where they were received by the Director of Navantia’s Shipyard, Manuel Filgueira.

After attending several presentations (Navantia-Cartagena Shipyard and S-80), Hon. John J. Snelling, visited the S-80 simulator and a number of workshops that are being built the submarines for the Spanish Navy.
