In a statement on Wednesday, CCB said it would carry out a five-year SPS of the rig as well as supplementary activity during the yard stay.

Stena Spey is a semi-submersible rig built in 1983 owned by Stena Drilling.

According to CCB, the Stena Spey rig is currently wrapping up a campaign on a field offshore Scotland and is expected to arrive at CCB at Ågotnes in early August. The rig is under a contract with Nexen Petroleum.

As for the yard stay with CCB, it is planned to last for 45 days. CCB said the SPS work would employ between 150 and 200 workers.

CCB’s Project manager Sveinung Vethe said:“This is an important assignment that will contribute to employment and activity for us and our subcontractors.”
