New Representative for MSFD

Dr Noemi von Meijenfeldt (Witteveen+Bos) has been appointed CEDA representative to the EU Marine Strategy Directive Strategic Co-ordination Group (MSCG) and Chair of the Marine Strategy Navigation Group (MSNG).

Formed in 2009 and chaired by CEDA, MSNG is a ‘thematic cluster’ of navigation sector bodies that coordinates the exchange of knowledge, experience and views of the participating associations and provides professional advice that can be used in the implementation of the MSFD.

Members of MSNG are:

Central Dredging Association (CEDA), European Boating Association (EBA), European Boating Industry (EBI), European Community Shipowners Association (ECSA) European Seaports Organisation (ESPO), European Dredging Association (EuDA) – corresponding member, International Council of Marine Industry Associations (ICOMIA) International Salvage Union and the International Navigation Association (PIANC).

Other CEDA representatives for the MSFD are:

Dr Marie Pendle, HR Wallingford, UK at the OSPAR Intersessional Correspondance Group for MSFD and Dr Frank Thomsen, DHI Water & Environment, Denmark at the Technical Subgroup Underwater Sound of the MSFD Working Group Good Environmental Status (also chair of the WODA Expert Group on Underwater Sound).

As the official CEDA representative for OSPAR, Dr Cor Schipper, Deltares also deals with MSFD related subjects and liasise with Noemie von Meijenfeldt.
