Celtic Voyager to Conduct Hydrographic Survey Offshore Clare Coast, Ireland

The Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, has been advised that a hydrographic and geophysical survey operation will be undertaken by INFOMAR for the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) off the Clare coast between the 11th and 19th March 2013.

The R.V. Celtic Voyager (Call sign EIQN) is expected to carry out survey operations.

The vessel will display appropriate lights and markers. It will be towing a magnetometer sensor with a single cable of up to 100m in length.

The vessel will be listening on VHF CH 16 throughout the project.

R.V. Celtic Voyager is a multipurpose research vessel suited to coastal research and offshore survey operations.

It’s used for a variety of applications including fisheries research, environmental monitoring, seabed mapping, oceanographic, meteorological and radiological surveys, weather buoy maintenance, and student training.
