Centrica Delays Fogelberg PDO

Following the selection of the subsea connection to Åsgard B platform as the development concept for Fogelberg discovery, Centrica and its partners informed that the submission of plan for development and operation (PDO) will be delayed until June 2019.

The previously expected date for the submission was in 2018.

“I can confirm that the deadline for submitting a PDO for Fogelberg is by the end of June 2019,” the company’s spokesperson said in an email statement.

The Norwegian Ministry of Petroleum and Energy said that the license will lapse if the owners fail to deliver the PDO by June 30, 2019, according to the news site Petro.no.

The planned development solution for Fogelberg includes three subsea wells tied to Åsgard B gas and condensate processing platform. The gas will be transported through the Åsgard Transportation System (ÅTS).

Centrica has booked the capacity in ÅTS between 2021-2023.

“The selected development solution is a subsea tie-in to the Asgard B platform. However, due to lack of capacity in the Asgard transport pipeline, a start-up before 2021 is not possible,” the spokesperson added.

The Fogelberg discovery is located approximately 18 kilometers to the north of the producing Åsgard field in the Norwegian Sea.
