The company, which is headquartered in London (UK) and has an office in Aberdeen (Scotland, UK), has taken up residence in the Murphy Exploration Building in the city’s Memorial neighbourhood. The opening was celebrated with a cocktail party in the new office itself, at which members of the Ceona executive team were joined by industry peers and press.

Steve Preston, Ceona’s Chief Executive Officer, spoke at the event: “We’re expanding our teams on both sides of the Atlantic, and the opening of this larger office in Houston’s Energy Corridor represents a new milestone for us. It’s important for Ceona to have a strong local presence, and we are building an excellent, experienced team who will work closely with clients and partners based here on the ground.”

Steve Preston also gave a progress update on the company’s two new build vessels, the Polar Onyx and the Ceona Amazon, which are on track to enter service in March 2014 and January 2015 respectively.

Guests on the night enjoyed 3D animation of the flagship Ceona Amazon vessel which demonstrated her heavy lift and deepwater multiple pipelay capabilities.

Janelle Pence, VP Commercial Americas at Ceona, commented: “Houston is an important location in the global deepwater subsea construction market and our vessel, the Amazon, has capabilities perfectly suited for the deepwater projects undertaken by both small and large oil companies in the Gulf of Mexico. By developing a strong presence here, Ceona is reinforcing its global project management capability. We are making great progress in establishing our project teams and are looking forward to making the most of our new location in Memorial to serve our clients based locally and around the world.”
