CGGVeritas Inaugurates New Processing & Imaging Center in Melbourne

CCGVeritas Opens Office in Australia

CGGVeritas announced today that it has opened a new processing & imaging center in Melbourne, Australia. The Melbourne center extends the services and accessibility of CGGVeritas in Australia where it has had an ongoing presence since 1981 and opened its main Perth office in 2000.

Although Perth has traditionally been the center of the Australian oil and gas industry, there are also major E&P activities on the east coast. Melbourne, in particular, is home to both traditional and emerging Australian oil and gas players. The remit of the new CGGVeritas Melbourne processing & imaging center is to serve clients in eastern Australia, particularly the emerging CSG (coal seam gas) hub of Brisbane, and the expanding New Zealand market. The center is staffed by a team of experienced geophysicists who provide advanced seismic processing & imaging services.

Colin Murdoch, Executive Vice President, Processing, Imaging & Reservoir, CGGVeritas, said: “Our Perth office already has an excellent, well-established reputation with Australian and international clients with a wide portfolio of domestic and international oil and gas interests. We intend to build on this strong west coast position to take advantage of the thriving east coast activity and a wider region that offers enormous E&P potential.”

CGGVeritas is a leading international pure-play geophysical company delivering a wide range of technologies, services and equipment through Sercel, to its broad base of customers mainly throughout the global oil and gas industry.
