Atlantique Offshore Energy will execute the full engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of the topside and modular support frame.

The 242 MW substation will be designed and fabricated in Saint Nazaire, France, and installed in the German North Sea in 2023.

According to Chantiers de l’Atlantique, the contract represents the first electrical offshore substation Ørsted entrusts under a full EPC scheme.

“Following our recent achievements, we are very happy and proud to welcome back a customer like Ørsted, the worldwide leader of our industry, and to execute for them their first complete EPC project for an Electrical Offshore Substation,” said Frederic Grizaud, Director of Atlantique Offshore Energy.

Gode Wind 3 will feature Siemens Gamesa 11.0-200 DD turbines. Ørsted expects the installation of the 242 MW project to begin in 2023, with commissioning being completed in 2024.
