Chengxi Shipyard Lays Keel for CNCo's Third Handysize

Chengxi Shipyard held, on August 6, a keel-laying ceremony for China Navigation’s (CNCo) third 39,500 dwt bulk carrier of Deltamarin’s Bdelta handysize design.

In total, CNCo ordered a series of twelve 39,500 dwt bulk carriers from Chengxi, China.

The service speed of the vessel, scheduled for delivery in 2014, at design draught shall be 14.0 knots and the model tested daily fuel oil consumption at design draft shall be 18t including 15 % seamargin, ISO conditions. The EEDI shall be 15.4 % less than the requirements to come into force. The vessel is designed to carry bulk cargoes, grain, coal, concentrates, logs, heavy general cargo, steel coils, steel slabs and a wide variety of heavy project cargoes. The tanktops are specifically strengthened for heavy cargoes and all holds have double skin hydraulic folding hatch covers and forced draft fans for cargo care.
