Chile: BG May Sell Stake in Quintero LNG

BG May Sell Stake in Quintero LNG

BG Group of UK plans to sell half of its stake in the Quintero LNG terminal in Chile, according to several media reports.

Any potential stake sale will not affect a supply contract that BG owns to sell LNG to Chile, Bloomberg reported.

BG Group has 40% ownership of GNL Quintero S.A, which owns and operates the LNG import terminal located in Quintero Bay.

The GNL Quintero complex has a capacity of 2.5 million tons of LNG annually, producing 10 million cubic meters a day of natural gas at base (and up to 15 MMm³/day at peak), which is injected into the pipeline network for distribution in the central zone.
