CIC Shipyard Completes MV XIN ASIAN Repairs

MV XIN ASIAN departed, December 5th 2012, from CIC-Changxing Shipyard’s premises which indicated the repair was completed successfully.

The subject vessel is China Shipping Group’s firsting 8500TEU container with 335m in length, 42.8M in depth and the sister ship of MV XIN EUROPE repaired last month. The main work scope included all C/H sand-blasting and painting, total 74 pcs of hatch covers removal to shore and sand-blasting.

During the repair period, the Shipyard carried out sand-blasting several times because of the weather conditions.

In order to insure timely delivery, the Shipyard decided to apply hydro jetting in order to continuously work despite the rainy weather, according to the SRM and superintendent.

At the same time, Service Workshop and Painting Workshop worked together closely, taking the air hose to the cargo hold so that the cleaning work could be done conveniently. In good weather conditions, the workers worked full time insuring a smooth painting  job.
