Cosco Cuts Steel for Axis Offshore's New Accommodation Unit

Axis Offshore celebrated with Cosco a steel cutting, held according to the construction schedule on 28th February 2013, for the first semi-submersible accommodation unit.

The Axis Offshore site team manager, Mr. Magnus Olsson, congratulated the yard project manager, Mr. Wang Jianqiang, on the planned progress made by Cosco.

This rig, which is worth over US$200 million, will be built to Global Maritime’s design, GM500A and will have a capacity of 500 POB, DP3 Dynamic Positioning system and is designed to operate in the harsh environment in the North Sea.

The new accommodation rig is scheduled for delivery in Q1 2015.
