Hantong Shipyard Completes Sea Trials for Supramax Bulk Carrier HT100

Two days ago on July 30th 2012, Hantong Shipyard successfully completed the sea trials of 57.000 DWT Bulk Carrier (HT100). The vessel is built for CHUN AN and class approved by NK.

The vessel is a new type of supramax bulk carrier optimised to burn less fuel oil. The efficiency improvements have been achieved by carrying out a number of changes including: de-rating the main engine, a new propeller design which has been optimised for the de-rated engine, and fitting a mewis duct.

The shipyard accomplished various testing programs for the vessel, meeting all the requirements of ship owners and the class.
