China Navigation Orders Four Deltamarin Designed Bulk Carriers

China Navigation Company Pte Ltd (CNCo) has placed an order for four Deltamarin designed B.Delta 37 handysize bulk carrier vessels of 39,500 DWT at Chengxi Shipyard Co. Ltd, Jiangyin, China, reports Heavy Lift. An option for as many as six additional ships has also been incorporated into the contract.

Fuel oil consumption:

Handysize – B.Delta37 – 18,0 tons/day at service speed 14,0 knots

The vessels feature five double skin cargo holds and are designed to carry bulk cargoes, grain, coal, concentrates, heavy general cargo, steel coils, steel slabs and a wide variety of heavy project cargoes. The tanktops are specifically strengthened for heavy cargoes and all holds have double skin hydraulic folding hatch covers and forced draft fans for cargo care. Four electric deck cranes are mounted on the centerline, each rated at 30 tons at maximum outreach of 26 m. All cranes can be combined for a maximum lift of 60 tons.

Delivery is planned to take place between November 2013 and September 2014.
