China: Renewal of Propeller for MV BARGAR Completed

 

CIC Changxing Shipyard has completed the propeller renewal for MV BARGAR. The vessel, built in 2000 by Hudong Zhonghua Shipbuilding Group Shanghai and registered in B.V class, is sailing under the Malta flag.

The main sco0pe of work for this project was to change old propeller (diameter: 7060mm*4 blades, weight 20 tons, keyless hydraulic propeller) with the new one. The part of original propeller was broken and lost due to hitting the sharp objects during the sailing time.

Because the new propeller didn’t have the original tail shaft for fitting, the vessel’s tail shaft had be withdrew and transported to the workshop, and fitted to the new propeller. After four days and 3 nights of hard work, the production department, docking repair workshop together with the shipyard team managed to finish the work on time.
