China: Repaired Bulk Carrier MV Albany Leaves CIC Lixin Shipyard
CIC Lixin Shipyard has recently completed the repair of MV Albany and with this perfectly completed project won appraisal from the ships owner. The subject vessel was a bulk carrier of handy size. The main repair work included the modification of the main deck drain pipe, newly fitting seven anti-piracy doors in steering engine room, cropping and renewing the damaged bulbous bow area which was also the main work for this repair.
As per the owner’s requirement for quality and repair period, the work team overcame the difficulties of the continuous rainy days and successfully resolved relating problems for the bulbous bow repair. At last, the shipyard completed that work with high quality and high efficiency.
The shipyard also completed hatch cover hose test which was approved by the owner and surveyor on Feb. 13th. The subject vessel sailed duly on Feb.14th.
